Galaxy Unpacked highlights, Elden Ring downloads in one millisecond, and survival games

From Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Ring or phone with artificial intelligence features, Japan's record-breaking Elden Ring download speed, to the gaming world-shaking Once Human - this and much more in the latest tech episode.

The big Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event took place on 10 July. Held in the heart of France in Paris, the Galaxy Ring was publicly unveiled at the huge event, which features a host of artificial intelligence functions and can monitor the health of everyone who uses it.

Alongside the much-anticipated ring, other Galaxy news was also unveiled, including the new Galaxy Z Fold 6 phone, with a bigger screen, a better processor, and more efficient cooling. However, the innovation also came with a higher price - the new phone will now cost around 1,000 euros.

And of course the new Galaxy Watch, the Galaxy Watch 7, with a brand new processor. Alongside version 7, a Galaxy Watch Ultra variant was launched, offering even more robust, even longer-lasting, and even more capable performance.

Moving on from the technological highlights, the Japanese have found their technological pinnacle with a record internet speed of 402 Tbps. That means you'll be able to play your favorite games like Baldurs Gate 3 or Call of Duty in less than a second.

Yes, you read that right. At that capacity, the internet can download the best (and astonishing in their size) games in seconds, and the game of the year, Elden Ring, managed to download in less than a second.

The new record is even 81 Tbps faster than the previous record, which means that the new record is so fast that it will be sending games or movies faster than you can read this sentence. To be precise, you could download almost 13,000 movies in one second.

Continuing with the theme of gaming, Once Human, a free open-world survival game, was released on 9 July. Although the reviews so far are mixed, with 15 million users the game is bound to impress.

In Once Human, you play as a mutated superhuman whose mission is to give the world one last hope. And to do so, you'll have to fight back against a giant cosmic invasion.

The game joins classics such as Rust, 7 Days to Die, and Palworld, and includes Fortnite features such as seasons, server-based stories, and visuals. The game is also coming to mobile.
